Though Meadowlark Farms chose not to be certified organic by the WSDA, the growing practice has not changed. The farm starts with organic seed stock and organic potting soil, as well as organic fertilizers. The crops are watered using drip irrigation to conserve as much water as possible. All vulnerable crops are covered with fabric barriers to protect them from wind, weather, and insects. No herbicides are used, choosing instead to use cover crops and hand cultivation for weed control.
As a farm that has chosen to directly market our produce, all questions and concerns regarding agricultural practices are welcome. Growers have extensive knowledge regarding the organic program, and 30 plus years of farming experience ensures the high quality you have come to expect from Meadowlark Farm.
